New-build kitchen extension roof — Denton

A brand-new kitchen extension running half the length of the back of the house, with a large roof lantern (sourced and supplied by the customer - reflected in the price). The customer and their builder brought us in near the start of the build - which is ideal, because we can work with the builder so what's handed over to us is exactly what the roof needs. We installed the timber joists and firrings to create a proper fall, no future ponding, smooth everyday run-off to the gutter, formed the aperture and timber kerb upstand for the lantern, and laid the 18mm SmartPly deck. The roof was fully insulated with 150mm PIR and a vapour control layer, fully compliant with building regulations - and as Competent Roofer scheme members through the NFRC, we sign off full warm decks as compliant ourselves; the certificate is part of the job. We installed the lantern, laid the membrane in one piece, sealed everything, and finished with edge trims, gutter trims and gutters. We never got to see the finished kitchen - but we know they'll have made it beautiful.
